You are invited to a morning forum to discuss the economic impact on the state of Florida of opening Cuba travel to all Americans. This is an important issue for our state, especially in light of current economic conditions.

The forum will cover present law, and HR 4645, pending legislation which will authorize unrestricted travel to Cuba by all citizens and legal residents of the United States. It also will explore historical ties between Florida and Cuba and the impact of open travel on our aviation industry, agriculture and other aspects of Florida’s economy.

There will be speakers from the academic sector, representatives of several organizations which have worked on Cuba surveys and polls as well as representatives from the aviation and maritime industries. There will also be a telephone conference with members of Congress and the opportunity to ask questions after each panel as well as during the telephone conference.
